1989 dodge w100 transmission
 
I am restoring my 1989 dodge W100 power ram. i was wondering how i can tell if the transmission is a 727 torqueflite or if it is a 904 torqueflite

okay thank you. now would you know why the transmission would not fully engage until 3000-4000 rpm

Mite check the band adjustment.... Also was the fluid burned up that us in it? Also Check the throttle valve linkage/cable adjustment.
Just my thoughts..

I had a 904 once that the finger was plugged and it would not move when cold.
