78 dodge w150 steering column
I have a lot of slop in my steering. I am having a hard time locating a new steering column. Will a 2wd column work. Are the columns year specific.

Hello
Are you sure it's the column and not the u-joint, rag joint or steering gear? What condition is the rest of the front-end in? I have no idea about the capability between 2wd and 4wd parts but, I may know where you can get the parts you need. I did business with Joe Leonard over at Mopar Truck Parts when I was converting my truck over to power steering and was having trouble locating the parts needed. https://www.mopartruckparts.com/contact.html If it turns out your steering gear is at fault, I've heard it's best to have it rebuilt rather than replacing it with a reman unit. And the place I've heard to have it done is called RedHead Steering Gears but, I've yet to do business with them. I hope you find this helpful. |
