So I have an 81 ram /6 with a 4 speed and I'm curious what trans it is before I do an engine swap. Any ideas?

 

most likely you would have an A833 OD if the shifter mounts to the side of the trans. Can't remember what the granny low 4 speed model is but it will have a top mounted/loader shifter.
Are you planning a V-8 swap? If so, what are your plans for the power steering brackets? Need them to upgrade my 76 slant to power steering.

 

It will have a NP435 "granny gear" trans. That's what my '84 has.
