Carburetor with electric choke
Helping my nephew with his '87 D100 w/318 and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a carburetor with an electric choke that will bolt up to stock Dodge intake?

Abcdefghii on this forum just went through putting an electric choke on his 1981 D150 318. I'm sure he could point out where he bought his.

I bought my electric choke kit from mikes carburetors.... Bolted up easily enough to the 2bbl Holley carb I have on there. It did need some slight tweaking to get it mounted where the choke closed fully, I had to add a spacer to raise the choke to slightly.
If you need the carb as well, I'd look for a Holley 2280, that's what I have and should bolt up simply. This carb https://nationalcarburetors.com/Chrysler-1979-1980-318-52L-Holley-2280_p_2276.html And this electric choke https://www.carburetor-parts.com/electric-thermostat-choke-cu1274 |
Thank you. I ordered the choke kit from Mike's and my Nephew already has a Holley 2280 knock-off carb on there so it shouldn't be too hard.

That's great, if you run into any problems feel free to reach out. As I mentioned, for me, the biggest piece was that the arm on the electric choke was slightly too short so I needed to add a spacer beneath it to raise it up about 1/8"
There's a bunch of info in the thread I have going here, a lot of dumb questions that I've had great help with. |
