You will need all big block stuff Trans, accessories etc

IMHO if you want more power without having to chase a bunch of parts to do the swap go to a 93up 360 Magnum
It's cheaper to live with too & doesn't require massive amounts of fuel

I agree with above. Build a "big" smallblock. For a 440 swap you'll need "everything

Engine, new automatic to fit a B / RB, and if a 4x4, you'll need a trans to fit that, or else (if yours is now a 727) you'll have to tear down both transmissions and put the B / RB front case around all the old 'guts' and tail housing to fit the transfer

Manifolds, engine brackets, PS etc to fit the B, as well as the rear sump pan and pickup, and probably a different radiator / shroud

Smile thanks

Dodge why a 93 and up this would require a computer swap correct? Or do you strip it down to a naked block , Carb it and go from there ? Sorry for the newbie questions just trying to learn the mopar. I all ways thought 318 to 440 was the same block LOL you shot that down right a way. just glad you guy's are will to help and you get free laugh's trying to help a converted Chevy man. thanks for the reply will start looking for that engine.

No laughing here, these people aren't like that on this forum, I've seen it on others though.

Real quick on engine options, all easily found info if you search. This will be based on usual improvements above stock rebuild.

318, 275- 325 HP, more with less low end torque if desired.

360 Mag, 350- 400 HP.

408 Mag Stroker, 400-450.

If you want performance from the Magnum going carb is the way as the computer is very limited. If you stay with the small block platform parts interchange is there and Mopar camshaft technology has come along way for this type of swap.

Not sure I entirely agree with this but I can see what you meant in the CONTEXT of the factory computer.

EFI has the capability for all kinds of good things, and this is coming from an "old guy" who never would have believed he was saying it.

I think what he means is that the factory computer is hard to "diddle." There's no easy, cheap way to reflash it.

So in that context, a carb is the easy way out

HOWEVER, you can REPLACE the computer with a DIY system like Megasquirt or Holley. I will admit "this is some work" and not exactly low budget.

The other thing about this swap---just depends on your availability. If you live in a region with lots of used parts available, and you have a good local network of friends who "know" then you might be able to gather the parts you need for a BB swap fairly easily.

I think the other thing we are all trying to get across is that a 360 based build is no slug.....and you can buy stroker kits that will pump that up by quite a bit.

Just like your GM stuff, head, cam and intake technology has come a VERY long way in the last couple of decades

They make carb intakes for the 92 up Magnum engine
I'll post some pics when I get home of them
IMHO there are really only two to use depending on what accessories that you're going to use Professional Products Crosswinds & Edelbrock RPM Air Gap the others take too much rigging to make things work
Those who advocate them have most likely never used them & have only read about them

I have done this swap over a dozen times now Car & truck

Here's my RC with a 98 360 Magnum
I used the Edelbrock so I could use my A/C without custom lines (92-3 Magnum A/C lines & 92-95 compressor)

92-93 trucks & vans came with 318 Magnums with the 360 Magnum starting in 93 so all factory parts can be found easy to do it right

If you don't care about A/C you can use this with a Hughes cam snout extension along with everything off the front of your original engine & go out cheap

I used a 92 donor truck 92 Magnums have a large outlet exhaust manifold & to use them & any of the Mag manifolds you will need the trans dipstick & tube from a 518 Trans

BTW you have a Dana 44 front & Chrysler 9 1/4 rear

You'll need to use a electric fuel pump
I use a Carter EP4070 & you have to move up to a 3/8" or #6 fuel line This is what I did to my tank to upgrade When I EFI it I will use the original for a return

You'll need these two things from Bouchillion to help things work out

If it has 9/16" lugs or larger it should be a D60
