was the car sitting a while ? because the fuel might have gone stale . that's my first bet . if not while cranking it over is there fuel pumping up from the tank . take the hose off from your fuel pump outlet & put it into a clear bottle & see if it comes out while cranking the engine . ok then i don't know carter/edelbrock carbs but you would want to drain fuel from the fuel bowl check your float hights & then give it a good dose of carby cleaner . but before you try fill it with fuel put a post up here about check a carter/edelbrock carb . i'd look at those things first . if it has been sitting for awhile i'd say drain the whole fuel system from carby to the tank. including a new cheap inline fuel filter run it for 10 miles then replace the filter again . that's agood thing to do . it takes a little time but doesn't cost alot , btw if any fuel lines look like there in bad shape just replace then then thats done .

cool m8 i got your reply & that sounds like a good little set up you got there . being thats it was your grandads that makes it so much cooler . how does it drive mate ? you know it probably goes fine now , but one mod you could make down the track is a diff gear swap . if you wanta acelerate a bit harder . look into that nothing to radical but something around the 3.4:1 or 3.5:1 would be good since you have a b body & there a bit bigger than the old abody's . i'm having a guess you would have a 3.32 now . but if you do alot of hiway driving or long distances don't bother . 3.32 is a good compromise .

beepbeep hey 74 . mate can you get some pic's of your engine bay & stuff you've been doing ? maybe make a album of ya mods . 300 hp shouldn't be to hard at all , saying that the hardest/most costly part would be compression . what parts do you have already ? ie headers , twin exhaust , carb , manifold ect , cam ??? this will help us see what you have got to work with . cheers m8 .
