The fluid level should be checked with the engine running and the transmission in neutral. Then the level should be as noted for full on the dipstick.

Make sure the Air Valve Secondary (flap) opens readily when you whip the throttle open. The spring should be set to JUST hold the air flap closed and maybe an extra quarter turn.
