67 B-body wiper motor, please help.
My wiper motor does not appear to work. I removed it and a buddy did a test on it and it appears to be bad. At this link:
http://www.jimsautoparts.com/windshield_wiper_parts.htm
I found what I believe is a rebuilt wiper motor for a 67 Belvedere for $199. Does anyone know of a less expensive option, or had any luck having one rebuilt? Is there someone out there that has a rebuild service for these things?
It is not like I will be driving in the rain much, but on occasion, you get caught and I would like to have functional wipers just in case. Any info or suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks guys, I can totally wait. I appreciate the effort. I like the strings thing......low tech and cheap as well!
Oh, by the way, if someone has the Chrysler part number, I wouls also appraciated that. I found 2580927, but I am not sure if that is the part for the whole assembly or just a piece on it.

Hi,
i got mine fixed at closed car electronic repair shop, they changed something inside(coils(?) etc), and it works like a charm again. Cost something like 30 euros, i think it is close to 50 dollars.

Rainx is a good option for sure and I will do that. I tried getting the current motor repaired and no one seemed interested and they say they "have bad luck" with wiper motors. I found a use working motor on ebay for $45 and it is on the way to me. For as much as I will be in the rain, this should do the job. I just could not go the $200 for a new one.
Thanks for all the help guys!

Comment on Jim's auto parts.
I bought some parts from them and the price they advertised was higher when trying to buy it.
They couldn't tell me how much a different part would cost to ship unless I purchased it. I didn't but it.
Kind of risky.....
Rain X is great to use if you can't wipe with wipers.
Strings are low budget but my arms would get tired. We are getting a lot of rain.
Hope the motor works and is the correct one

Mine is a 2 speed. The motor I got off of ebay was for a Monaco and it did not work for my application, I believe it was for a 3 speed. I ended up taking my old motor apart, taking emery cloth to the rust area on the shaft, cleaning out old hard grease, re lubing it, and put it back together. Now it is working like a charm.

Sorry guys, mine was a 2 speed motor. While I was at it, I also installed a switch. Hopefully I will not have to worry about the wipers for a while now.

Haha, well, this sounds lovely for me. My car was (and still is) a basket case, so I dont have a wiper motor.
Does anyone out there know what wiper motors will interchange for the 67 GTX?
