727 shift linkage adjustment!
Hey guys.
Is there a trick in adjusting the shift linkage on a 727 with a floor shifter. Everything seams to be working fine, just that the gears don't match up with whats shows on the shifter. IE: P is P R is 1/2 way between P and R, N is R, D is just before N etc!

This is on a 64 ...correct ?
The EZiest way is to crawl under the car ...with someone in the drivers seat and just fiddle with the thumb-wheel adjustment which is bolted to the trans case.
If it is not far-off .. it should not take you longer than 10 minutes or so(with a helper).

HI, I HAVE A 64 SPORT FURY ALSO . MY CONSOLE IS OUT AND SOME ONE PUT IN A PUSHBUTTON. I HOPE I DON'T RUN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM. THERES A PLACE I HEARD IS REAL GOOD AT KNOWING ALL THE ANSWERS . IT'S TOURKFLIGHT PATTYS PHONE # 206-356-1966 . HOPE THIS HELPS
