Help with my 71' roadrunner

I plan on keeping the car as origional as possible. Going to go back and paint her the same curious yellow she was when she came out of the factory. She has an 8 3/4 rear and all the good mopar performance pieces, so I feel there is nothing that needs to be changed. Since I acquired and additional 4 speed from a 69' roadrunner, I'm probably going to find another 383 to run with a slightly bigger cam, that way I'm not beating up the numbers matching motor or 4 speed that's in the car right now. Other than that the car is going to be rebuilt and have a factory restoration. I have a feeling people will respect this car a lot more with the options it has and its uniqueness if it was factory restored vice customizing it.

I'd rather just find a 383 from roughly the same era and keep it that way. 400's didn't come out till, correct me if I'm wrong, 1972 to replace the 383. If you look at the hood you can still see the 383 numbers. Plus the vin, air cleaner, and hood all show it as a 383 car so I'm just gonna keep it that way. If I was gonna put any other motor in this car just for fun it would be a 440 (can't afford a hemi lol). But I'm going for factory origionality on this one.

well, if you know where to look, you'll see 440 stamped on the front of a 440
the manifold if a little wider, exhaust manifolds are a little different (on some years)
but, i cant begin to tell you how many people have asked me if my motor was a 383

Well good news folks. Got the Roadrunner running this afternoon. The reason I couldn't get the thing started was because the pos. battery post had some black crud on it from something. Lil wire brushing and cleaning on that post and she fired right up. The motor runs really strong considering it sat for a bit and is a 40 year old motor. The previous owner was yankin my chain when he said he put in a big mopar purple camshaft. This car has to have the factory cam in it (judging by the sound and how nicely it idles). The only thing that is really throwing me, my dad and his buddies off is that the high performance exhaust manifolds that are on the car have a 69' date code stamped into them. Now because this car came with a HP 383 motor, its supposed to have those manifolds, just curious why they're dated from 69'. Possibly left over parts put on in the factory? I don't know.
