PLEASE HELP!! SHOULD I BEE THIS 1969 superbee

Ok guys....I am debating if I should go look at my dream car tomorrow!!! ..its about 2 hrs away from me. But Ia m asking you guys if you think its worth it for me to! Is this price high?? I appreciate all input!

So I have come across my dream car....I could get it for $15k US....its got a 383 from a 1970 cuda...he says original color was yellow.
Its a WM21H9 car...
But he says its a 5 speed, I assume this is due to the cuda engine? I'm not really sure

Any input would be helpful...as I would be trailer it back home to the states.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

two ways to look at it.. If the car was a original 4 speed putting a 5 speed in it could be considered an upgrade. if it was a auto installing a 4or 5 speed would be considered a modification.
If the rest is solid it would be a fair price

For a 2 hour drive.... I would go check it out..... Look it over Good... think about it.... If all looks good and your happy with what you see.... Bring it home.. I think the price might be fair from the pictures. But I would have to look at it and drive it about 20 miles to be happy about it.
Then talk money..

Even with the sychros messing up? seller said he has another trans(mustang) that will come with the car......
That T5(mustang trans) cant handle the 383 torque, hence the sychros messing up....

2hrs there and 2 hrs back!...he is firm at $15k US dollars

mannnnnnnnn.....just not sure if its worth the $15k plus knowing that its a mustang 5 spd in it!

That wouldnt scare any of yall off?

Having all the parts there and in Ontario, couldn't keep me away.

Just another thought, go down to your Dodge dealership and see what you get for 15,000 dollars, then make your decision.

So why couldn't you go back to the original 4 speed or upgrade to a tremac 5 speed??? The transmisson is the least of your worries...I would go look at it with a fine toothed comb and see what you feel...Bill:sl ap: :drinking:Im sure you'll feel one of these...

I towed my car back 14 hours! Of course after getting it home and diving in to its issues I admit I did think I should have left it there! Lol no really worth every minute so far! I've learned so much and hopefully made it so much better. Fingers crossed! As Previously stated (by Racerhog) if you like what you see go for it! If your not really concerned on matching numbers etc, go for it! Extra parts are good! Give it a good going over! Good luck!

Hey Shirts, when I back halved my son's Mustang I shortened, rear braced and installed a Chrysler corporate 8.75" rear end in it. Same manufacturers engines in the cars for sure, trans and axle who gives a hoot. Mopar guys shorten and put Ford 8.8" rear ends in their cars.

I have seen a lot on Ebay. Looks fantastic on outside but every thing is covered up, if you look close and read between the lines they need lots of work, some even still have the greasy K member

Another Question that has me wondering whats Up???? In the pictures At the car wash it has an Automatic and all of a sudden it has a Pistol Grip shifter so you said it use to be an Automatic car....The Question is how old are the pictures...Also beware a wet car hides a multitude of sin as does a car in primer...By the way there not more pictures they are the same pictures...Your on your own on this one....I would be getting new pictures from the guy before I made the trek all the way there...Of a dry car..I suspect it has a bad paint job thus the reason he says it is not a show car...It looks like a nice driver but it all depend on what you want...Bill

I await current pictures

While it appears quite nice at first glance. Ontario is renowned for rusted out 3 year old cars, let alone 43 year old cars. Look very very closely, take a magnet, put it on a hoist, check the rear inner fenders and trunk extensions, etc, etc. Look very closely around the windshield trim and the whole body for a single blister. If you find one run like a bunny!

NOW HERES MY CONCERN…..I ASSUME IT WILL A HAVE BUBBLE OR 2 OR 3 hence the asking price for a super bee!!!!!!!!!!
SOOOO HOW MUCH BUBBLING/RUST IS ACCEPTABLE??????

Just look for the filler, you can usually see sand marks...Look real close in the trunk floor pans and at the inside of the quarter panels...Look under the car at the floor pans/boards....If you see a heavy undercoating/tar build up it usually is hiding something so beware...Bottom of quarters and wheel openings between front wheel opening and door (lower Fender) around windshield...Around rear window and on the upper Quarter to roof (pillar panel) those are the common places...If the car is full of filler it isnt worth the money...The guy that just looked at it would of put a deposit on it if it was worth it...Or maybe he was a tire kicker you just dont know...Just be careful this is a major rip off game for some people...Trust me I have had it happen to me and I have been working on cars almost all my life as a profession...But it wasnt a rust problem it was parts missing all the hard to find stuff..It was supposed to be in the boxes in the car...When I called the guy after getting the car home..All he said was Ill look for it here but it was there in the car...Never heard from him again and wouldnt return calls...LESSON learned..And a ton of money later,,, never again will I buy a car that is apart...Good Luck and keep us posted get pictures and post them the more eyes the better to help you...Bill

The quarters have alot of fill in them...Around the wheel opening (picture 2 over wheel) and on the roof pillars (picture 7 you can see the sand marks in the rear),,,cant really see the windshield to well...It will need work but it depend on what you are looking for...If he is firm at 15K I would pass and keep looking...It is nice but not 15K nice...You will have to spend 5-10K to get the quarters fixed the right way...Bill
