stealth heads?
hi this is my 1st post has anyone used stealth heads from 440source? they seem to be a good performance head not full race but a step up from stock much like rpm heads and seem to flow about the same but i would like to hear from anyone that has used them and what they think of them thanks

Ryan there are several folks here that have used the stealths, just don't lose patience and think no-one will answer, they will.

Got em on my car now, and I'm really pleased with them. Great deal for the price, and performance is up from a stock set. Almost a bolt on head, just be sure to grab some head bolt washers, the right plug, there ya go.
Ibet if you do a search for stealth heads above, yo'ull see all kinds of threads about them.

Just curious, when you say they are "bolt on" heads, does that mean you could/would use them with a stock set up for the internals? I have a stock 440 in my GTX, would I need to do a complete engine rebuild (pistons, crank, etc) or could I literally bolt on a pair of these with maybe a new intake manifold?

bolt on meaning that they will work with factory rockers, intakes, alternater, valve covers, etc. yes you could use them with your stock setup but you might want to consider the compression ratio of your 440. with iron heads lets say that 9.5:1 is the highest ratio you could use on pump gas with aluminum heads 10.5:1 would be the highest you could run. the aluminum dissapates heat better and you have to run about 1 point higher compression to get the same power. so if you add aluminum heads to a low comp engine you are lowering the power a little but the heads also flow better than stock so that will add power. you could possibly have the heads milled to increase the comp ratio.

some heads are also designed to give you back the thermal efficiency that you lose with the aluminum
