Header Fitment

I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not a set of headers for a 383 B-Body will fit in a 383 C-Body. They are Hooker Competition Headers pn. 5903 and the C-Body is a 65 Polara. Thanks.

What I do know, is that a '68 B Body header will not fit a '68 C body. I don't know about the earlier C bodies.

What do the headers interfere with on that application? Any info will help. The reason I ask is because I have a set of B-Body headers and my brother is looking for a set for his 65 C-Body and if they fit, that'd be great. The forums would be a lot easier than test fitting.

Honestly, I don't know but, possibly the torsion bars for the front suspension. The thing is, that a '66 is a different car than the '68 and they "may" work.

Back when I was looking, 20 years ago, Hooker was the only company that I could find an application listing for a '68 C body.

Have you looked at the Hooker Header application sheet?

The one thing that I do remember is, that with the headers, if the starter went out, you had to remove the driver's side header to replace the starter.

TTI makes headers that "fit" for c bodies.... these are In My Opinion VERY over priced and don't actually fit seeing as you have to jack up the engine to clear things and from what i understand disconnect your power steering to install them. Bad design as far as im concerned but i have been searching for a year to find a c body header other than them. i am learning to weld so i can make a set good luck

yep,I have heard both good and bad with TTI and most had to bang on em with a hammer. Not much for headers, best bet is to find the c-body specific H.P. manifolds. The passenger side is the same as the b-body but the drivers side is c-body only. There for the b-body one is easier to find but usually cost more. The problem is the torsion bars are narrower on the c-body and there is a fitment issue with the steering column.

header issue

i put the super comps on my road runner with 440 and they hit the torsion bars on both sides and burned spark plug boots had to notch the tubes go with manifolds less headaches!
