Muscle dart

I have 73 dodge dart 318 with no engine upgrades other than replaced stock exhaust muffler with a flowmaster 40 series. I'd like to make my car stronger and nicer. My first car and I didnt know anything about cars but once I bought my dart I learned to everything without a single visit to the shop. Please any tips or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ok. Well, whats is your budget like? That will be the deciding factor on how much you can do.

Is this car your daily driver? Because then we can come up with power with some gas mileage.

1st off a Dart is an a-body, not a c-body. That being said; they all work the same. I would start with a good tune-up. You should see a little just from that. Future upgrades would include a 4 bbl carb and dual exhaust.
73 should already have elctrinonic ignition. Read up some more on other builds and see what fits your needs. The 318 can preform well enough in a small car like a dart. Do some research on hot rodding and on your specific car. The reason folks hesitate to give recomendations is, the options are inumerable. You need to decide what you want. Stock cruiser, mild hot rod, corner carving road racer, or all out drag racer. Wheels and tire will help it handle better but again, what is the intended purpose? Don't forget to spend at least some money on the girlfreind or she will soon be someone elses.
