Transmission help!

I did a transmission swap. I used an 89 dodge truck 727 transmission in my 66 Plymouth Fury III four door. I got everything bolted up, fluid in, and everything looked good. Start it up and it is making a noise like something is grinding? Plus I can't shift it into first or second and it acts like it don't have neutral like the linkage isn't right. Help!
