1961 Valiant
Today I saw a white two-door 1961 Valiant. It is a slant six and a three speed on the tree. It needs a new interior (seat covers, cushions, headliner, door panels).
The car was recently repainted white. The paint is pretty good. No runs in the paint. The engine compartment is black, which to my knowledge is incorrect.
Questions:
1- Even for early mopars, is a black engine compartment wrong?
2- Were two-tone paint jobs available on this car? If so, was the two tone a thick line across the door?
3- How much is the complete interior? (My legendary catalog only seems to go back to 63).
4- Are there any major rust issues or other concerns with these cars?
5- What is the real value ($) for these cars?
6- Were bucket seats an option on these cars?

The problem with a car that is not desirable is the lack of aftermarket support. A lot of the interior will need to be custom done (panels, seats, carpeting, etc.). My understanding is that the engine bay is suppose to be the same color as the car (easier for the factory to paint).
As far as worth goes it's hard to tell without pics.

It is kind of ugly, but it grows on you.
I figured I might have to get later skin covers.
The seat frames were probably the same in 61 as they were in like 63,64,65 right?
