545RFE differences
So have an 04 that will only move in reverse. Got a wrecking yard replacement but 2x4 rather than 4x4. I pulled the new one down in preparation for changing the tail shaft but now that I look at it, it seems to be the same. Any of you guys know if there is actually any difference between the 2x4 and 4x4 545rfe?

After pulling the tail piece from the 2x4, I found out that they are the same. Bunch of work for nothing. Good to know, though. Put it all back together now. May keep the 4x4 for future friction replacement just in case I need a spare.

I havent had a oprtunity to work on one but from what I understand about the 518 and electric nissan tranies its most likly a accumulator or bad electronic control part...
wich means anything from the wirng harnes to the computer or selonoid"if your lucky„ thats a cheap easy fix.
oh also be very carefull about removing frictions from their drums some of these can be under extream pressure ...for instance the overdrive unit in the 518 is under 400lbs of it and if you happend to get the snapring out you would have these steels and frictions flying at you and any near by ...

So if you want to remove the overdrive clutches and steels you need a press now the
545rfe may have the same issue dont start pulling parts out of it with out a repair manual.
most likly the 545rfe that hes swaping just needs a servo part . Or has a pluged screen but hes pulled it so hopfully his swap will work.
