I heard it costs 4 times as much to buy all the parts and put a car together than it does to just buy the car. In these times now, it's probably more like 7 times more.

its true. a college class did it as a project. i think they built (or researched) a toyota carrola (or whatever it is. I should know it too cuz heather drives one. lol) as a class project. the car at teh time cost $12K new. they spent just over $46K on parts.
