Question

My 74 dart originally came wit a slant 6 and I put a 360 v8 in ITT could I still use the original rear end for the straight six ?????????

i would go with an 8 3/4 rear axle. more gears available and a lot stronger than the original.

it depends on how you drive your car. my dad had a 69 dodge dart gts with the 340 and had a tunnel ram with 2 4's on it. i think he said he used the 7 1/4 rar axle. not really sure though will have to check with him this weekend.

Alright cool let me know and its gonna be a daily driver to school work and home but I would lik some power just in case some ones trying to race lol!!

Putting power to that rear end and racing with it is like poking sticks at a pitbull. It isn't a question of if it will bite, it's a question of when. It won't be a question of if the rear end will go, but when. If you granny it, it can live a long life. If you get on it, it will break, just a question of when and how bad.

Depending on what it's out of... Could be as easy as moving the spring perches to as hard as Narrowing the Diff it self.

Take some Measurement... Maybe someone has already done the work for you... You never know....

I found a 8 1/4 rear end for 200$ but it says is for a bbody will it work in my 74 dartbswinger????

No.You will find the housing to wide and the spring mounts in the wrong location...
