Hello and welcome.

I've been here for a few years... and I'm 17. Now I'm not the young one anymore.

What are you talking about?

Do you mean swapping an auto for a manual...?

In OLDER cars, its a bit eaiser. But newer cars, especially front wheel drives, you'll have problems. Better to just buy a manual to start with.

All you young guys need to post more and ask more questions. I know when I was 16 I wanted to know everything. This is the perfect spot to be. A bunch of Mopar junkies are at your disposal, get in on the action guys.

yeah my dad is a chevy freak so I am only allowed to own and work on GM vehicles, which I hate BTW. I wish I had a mopar, I've a worked on a few for friends though. I guess I know some about cars, my dad is a former mechanic now a Matco tools distributor so I talk to him when I got GM car questions. I'm sure i would post more and ask more questions on here if I had a mopar. Also I think a lot of us young guys might not want to ask questions because like mr340 said, we think we know it all and we dont want to be embarassed if we dont.

If you guys have a non mopar question, we have the non mopar tech section in general now. Yeah I might bash on F%#d and C@*$y because all I've owned have been Mopars but there is a lot of the same processes in find a problem between all the makes.

Heck, I my best friend loves C^+!ys and I'm always willing to give him a hand with working/fixing it.

Nobody here is too young to post a thread or even to replay to a thread. We have all been young and have started out where you guys are. Chime in, even if your not sure. (look at me, I sound old. LOL)

Hey I think you picked a good car to learn on, Actually the K platform has a lot of interchange-ability. They're easy to work on and the parts are affordable. I like the manual transmission idea, look for a 87 or newer daytona 5-speed, 2.2 or 2.5. Even a manual trans from a mini-van {caravan/ voyager} would work. It'll take some research and parts scoungin' but its very feasible.

that little wagon of yours would be pretty kick *** if you could find a turbo for it or if you find the omni put the 2.2l turbo in it. ive got a 2.2lturbo but im trying to find a rampage to put it in. it sat in an omni glh in a barn until a beam fell on it and crushed the body of the car. 13435 miles on it. i fired it up and it runs perfect. and if you also need to know about something and it sounds like a stupid question just pm somebody like 78d200. they are really helpful.
