Hi People

Hey everyone!
Joined the forum mainly to pick brains and hopefully finish my projects.
I'm from Outback Queensland in Australia by the way, just in case some of my stuff doesn't make any sense
My current project is a half chassis 1997 holden (GM) commodore sedan, which used to be my daily til i got the sads with the lack of power and decided to turn it into a strip monster. Engine of choice, stroked and gassed RB 440. (stick that up ya LS1 freeks! he he) so that is in the build.
On the back burner is a 1972 VH Valiant Coupe which shall recieve the first engine out of the commodore. Confused? me too.
So, I will eventually get to talk to you people that frequent this site
Sorry for babbling on, but you get that.....
Catch ya's round!

here are a couple of pics of the vt, i am proud to say I have done everything myself. I am building it more for the experience than to be ultra competitive, but saying that, I'd be disappointed if I didnt run a 9
I'll get some more pics up of the two vals later
Catch ya

Cool

WHOA DUDE,

That's absolutely insane!!!! I gotta say i was a bit concerned for you mental health i must admit .

But hey i loove it,thats gonna be interesting to say the least!!!I'd love to see some of the faces down the track .

Thought the only way to get a bombadoor to go fast was the usual 'off the edge of a cliff' thing, but i like your way betta, top stuff.

keep the progress reports coming, that's just too cool .

Why thanks for the words of encouragement, Sir Smellyhemi
The weird looks and comments are some of the things that I keep in mind to help motivate me with the holden. Everyone seems to be jumping in the ford or chev boat these days, gives me the sh*ts. I just like stirring the pot, what can i say
In some more interesting developments, it seems I have secured a 440 long engine for cheap. From what I can gather, it's std. bore and the block indicates it's an early 75 casting. I'll still be happy if I can only salvage the block. This is destined for the holden as a mock up til I get around to stripping it down.
Take it easy people

right on, man!

i've always dreamed of putting a 225 in a 92-95 civic, just to stick it to the ricers... i don't know how those guys are in each of your respective parts of the world, but out here in cali they're downright annoying. i think a mopar beast in a little honda would crack a lot of people up. hell, why not a 440 for that matter? it'd be a pitiful waste of money, but a hilarious one. i love it when people harmlessly violate the sacred respect of a brand name - it shows independent thought!

Yeah 440,that's why i joined this site,i too use the all the 'nasty comments' and the ones made 'in good fun' as fuel when i'm working on my cars, too right it's a real motivator.

The problem is,i think they've all run outta comments ,so here i am.

Me again,
The big block was delivered last week, so I threw it on a stand and ripped the sump off to see what type of crank I scored. If you can't tell from the broad manufacturing mark on the crank fillet, it's a forged steel crank I'm pretty pleased about that
