New potential Duster owner here from Omaha, NE

What's up all? Thought I'd swing in here and introduce myself. My name is Matt, I live in Omaha, NE.

I registered here because I have a chance to become a potential Mopar owner. I have had other muscle cars in the past, but all Chevy's, so this would be a change for me

Anyways, I have the opportunity to trade a motorcycle of mine (2004 HD Wide Glide) for a 1970 Duster. Here is the info on the car from the email the guy sent to me:

built 340 V8 with an Isky cam, edelbroc intake, holly 650 open bowl style race carb, welded aluminum valve covers, roller rockers, chromemoly push rods, deep sump oil pan with twin externally mounted oil filters, forged pistons, msd electronic ignition and blaster cap, long tube headers, flexilite fan and electric fan on a switch, new chrome case alternator and water pump, brand new freeze plugs and big block radiator just re-cored.
The trans is a 727 with reverse manual valve body, 3000 stall converter hurst pistol grip shifter with line lock. The rear end is the 8 3/4 with the suregrip posi diff and 4:10 gears with ladder bars and has a mini tub with kyb drag shocks, heavy duty leaf springs and the frame has been tied for reinforcement. it has stainless braided fuel lines and a fuel cell with an external electronic fuel pump The entire drivetrain has about 1800 miles on it. The body is in nice shape with all original panels and does not have any bondo. It is not a show car and has some nicks and scratches but it is rare to find 1970 A body mopars with all original body panels. It is a great car to rip around town in but I don't take it on long highway trips. It would only need a couple of things that I can think of, the exhaust is way too loud because the headers just dump right into the mufflers underneath the floor boards and it needs a fuel gauge but I have a new fuel cell with sending unit so one could be hooked up and I would include that for free, I also have a set of 340 hockey side stripe decals that have not been installed yet. I RARELY drive it and this is the main reason I would like to sell it and could use the garage space. It has 10.5 street slicks and and the fenders have been rolled professionally. I know what these cars go for and how rare it is to find a 1970 A-Body in good shape. 8K into the drivetrain alone. Not a beginner car by any means it runs high 11's in the quarter but is very reliable, took it to get groceries the other day.

So, my question for you Mopar gurus is.........what is the value of something like this? I will post pictures here in a second.

It's an 04 Harley Wide Glide. TONS of mods, but from the previous owner. Here is a short list.

stock 88" engine converted to 95"
10.25 to 1 compression
aftermarket adjustable ignition timing
Ported and Polished heads by Chris "the rocket" Rivas. A big name in the HD crowd.
Screamin Eagle 258 cams
45 mm polished makuni carb
BD3 Exhaust
BDL belt drive limited. Model is EVO 900s with a 3" kevlar belt. Not a cheap addition.
Front fork stiffener
1.6 kw starter
mustang seat
Chrome everywhere
Aftermarket headlight
4" longer tubes in the front with a different front wheel and tire
Custom painted graphics
HD repair manual

I've pretty much already decided that I'm going to keep the Harley. While I'd live to have this Duster, it just won't be as fun as the Harley. Maybe I'll try to buy it for outright........

Wow, sounds awsome. i bet itll flat fly. I think your doing the right thing., Not having a harleys one thing, but to have 1 then give it up. NFW!!!!The dusters are nice, and the geat thing is the aftermarket is loaded w/ resto and upgrade parts for it. I had a 73 sporty that was bobbed , but I sold it to my brother, I had 3 mopes. but got burned out on them. soldem all. My wife and I both ride, so we got 4 new harleys to replace the mopes. Had an a-12 runner, 71 duster 340, and a 66 coronet drag car. Now we have 4-2010 hd`s, a sporty iron, 2 dynas, fat bob and a street bob, and a fat boy low ,all in black denim. They all have basic upgrades, nothing wild yet. the fatbobs gonna get a 110 upgrade next year. thats my bruiser.Love to ride man, cars just dont do it for me anymore.

IMO, if it were something more of a GTS it would prob be worth the trade.

but the Harley is going to depriciate quicker then any old restore type muscle car. Your call i guess.

I know a guy who traded his 69 GTS for an older harley, that guy sold the GTS on ebay for 19k. The harley was wroth maybe 5k
