Try the wrinkle finish valve cover paint. Follow the directions, it works very well.

i found that the wrinkle finish didnt work well on parts that may be bent or twisted in anyway. i tired it on a piece of vinyl for my dash and if you poked it it would all flake off. however on plastic thats not going to get banged at all it would be fine for
