hi all..I am new here.
Hello,
My name is Nathan and I just registered on the mopar forum here. I am 22 and I own a 1969 Dodge Dart 4 door custom with a 225 slant six. I bought the car about 3 years ago for $850. It was all original with 48,000 original miles on it. It still runs and drives great! But could use a new paint job. I have been slowly working on it. I haven't done too much with it. I added new longer shackles to raise the rear end some. I put new wheel studds, new exhust, repainted the dash board, new break shoes, and I make sure the engine is always well taken care for. I try to change the oil every 3 months. Even if I had only diven it a few times I still make sure it has a clean and healthy dose of oil. I think I could use a new head gasket but I am not yet skill to be monkeying around taking apart a engine when it still works fine. The last month I have been spending every day I have off from work doing body work on it, repairing all rust spots etc so that I can paint it soon. Making sure its done right. I even go over rspots IU already did to make sure its nice and smooth. Anyway I will add another post to some questions I have. Thanks, Nathan

Hi Nathan ...Welcome ..
Sounds like you are getting-busy with that car directly !! .... BUT - I would get rid of those shackles. They could very well break the back part of the main leaf. You would be better off getting a thicker and longer second leaf and putting that in there. |
