Q’s on a 2017 Jeep Compass
What’s up guys, I’m new here. just have a few issues with my 2017 Jeep Compass id like to see if anyone can help me out.
so my first issue is with the transmission, apparently it has to be “learned” every so often. Symptoms of this needing to take place are consistent of a transmission slipping. So now my question, is it possible to purchase a tune/or get my vehicle tuned so that I can bypass this “relearning the transmission” thing. Right now my warranty covers it but once I’m outside the warranty that’s money spent on a reoccurring issue.

I'm thinking you have a transmission going out.

Looks like a few new updates.... I Think with out the (WiTech) You mite have a problem doing that yourself until a programmer comes out.
I see a few different Models Jeeps listed. but what i looked at. Looks like the Jeep just goes into Neutral and the selector indicator just flashes? then you cycle the key and shift selector a few time and it lets you drive again? THAT blows to me. I would be getting with them on the phone (Customer Service) and see if you could get an extended coverage, Just because I don't see this issue going away. No recalls out yet. Just updates.

So after taking it to a local dodge dealer they determined the engine may be going out.
they informed me the engine was burning too much oil and as a result it was causing the vehicle to tug when shifting.

What they are looking for is 1 quart every 500 miles is acceptable as per the MFG... If they played that game with me after telling me it needed an engine. I would give them what they asked for and it would go back in a 1000 mile and would be 2 quarts low. Also If it has been in the shop for other things I would look into the Lemon Law... But like my wife says.... I'm an A-Hole !!!

Thats a really good idea lmao.
so just a little update on the Jeep.
after the oil change it had been running smooth. However Saturday my sister in law left the visor down and my wife went to go start the truck today and nothing happened. She noticed the pedal couldn’t be pushed in because it’s very hard.
I figured it may be a safety mechanism and the battery is just dead so I tried to jump it with my truck and the cluster would come on and it would give me every warning light the Jeep has and then say it’s charging the battery and then the gauges would go on a fritz and it would shut off. Not once did the pressure in the pedal let up any so I was never able to turn over the engine.

Must be too dead.... Charge the battery and try again.... They really don't like not having a good alternator and battery in them. Sends them into cardiac arrest. Really bad for the Modules and PCM...

I replaced the main battery not realizing the auxiliary battery was bad otherwise I would’ve changed that while I was there ya know. but the service advisor made it seem like it was a really tricky task to tackle yourself..
