Just regular. I knocked the sheen down with some 1500 grit sandpaper before I shot the Ultimate Chrome.

Step 4: I shot the back of the medallions with some flat black to give more depth in the reflection. Now it's on to the disks!

I have no words for how cool this was to check out! I have to join the rest of the group here; your work is top-notch and that car is fabulous!

Curious: Did you do a complete engine rebuild, or just touch up the bad spots and let her rip? I'm imagining a rebuild, but one never knows. If it was rebuild, did you do it yourself?

Great, great car bud.

Complete rebuild. I pulled the motor and disassebled myself then let the machine shop rebuild the motor. The tranny and rear end were rebuilt as well. The only thing I didn't do was pull the sub frame. Aside from that the car was completely torn apart and rebuilt.

Awesome. Good to see such attention to detail and that somebody is giving an old c body some love.

Did you have to use any kind of vinyl dye for the interior to match the metallic red? If so, what did you use? I am having a hard time getting a perfect match on mine.

Thanks, man!

Just Dashes matched the dye for the dash, kick panels, arm rests and rear arm rest bases to the upper door panel vinyl (darker red) and matched the metallic red pieces (seat backs, console lid, head rest backs, etc.) to the metallic red vinyl from the seat upholstery. I got the seat upholstery, foams, sunvisors, well liner and console carpet kit from Legendary. SMS Auto Fabrics did the door panels, top and boot. Hope this helps. What are you working on?
