65 Fury III 2 door hardtop
Edit: Sorry I didn't read the rules for the title. I can't change it now.
Hello, been lurking here off and on for a bit. I did an intro awhile back. I started out searching for a old Mopar Muscle car. After looking at a few, and calculating the costs involved with getting them into decent shape I realized that this is a dream probably left for later in life. I have a 2 year old daughter so i have a bit of a tighter budget. Anyway I knew I really wanted a mopar, I like all cars but you just don't see as many mopars around as you do chevy's and fords. It is something a bit different for cruise nights and driving around in.
Anyway today I went and looked at this 65 Fury III 2 door hardtop, 318 2 bbl, original white paint, seats redone in original brown/ tan material. After talking the guy down in price a considerable amount we came to an agreement. I almost felt bad, the guy has owned this car for over 25 years. He and his wife were very nice and seemed sad to see it go. I assured him that she will be in good hands and I wasn't going to do anything stupid like 20" rims. (his son wanted to do this).
Anyway here she is!! I am sure the questions will be coming from me left and right. I need to rebuild the carb before I can really drive it. It leaks a lot of gas. It has a holley 500 2 bbl on it.

I agree Putting 20's on a classic Mopar looks ridiculous. Looks like you found a great survivor for a restro. I would probably replace the float while you have it apart too...Holly 500 2bbl is not Original. Should have ?? a BBD/BBS type carter 2bbl. A 4bbl holly was available on the BigBlocks, were nothing but trouble because of engine heat the metering blocks would warp. They did use some Holly 2bbl during the 70's

It seems to be leaking out of the diaphragm on the front of the carb. I found a rebuild kit for it after a bit of internet research. A local Oreilly's says they have one in stock. At least the website says they do. We will see tomorrow. Also found the wire between the cap and coil was loose, that solved the starting issue immediately.

Thank you, sorry about that.
I got the carb rebuilt with Holley's kit yesterday. Got it started right up and took off up the street completely forgetting that the guy I bought it from said it had virtually no gas in it. I got about 2 houses up before it died. Stole the lawnmower gas and dumped it in the tank and sat cranking and pumping until it finally fired back up. Then drove it up to the gas station on fumes. After some fresh gas she roared to life. Seems to run good, although I found out the gas gauge and speedometer are not working. Also the linkage may need some adjusting, or maybe just the needle on the indicator. No time to really look at it yesterday, being Mothers day and all.

Here are a few more pics of the interior. I forgot to get one of the dash, but it is in nearly perfect shape too with just a few very small cracks starting to show near the speaker holes. Almost not noticeable. The seats have been redone at some point in what I am told is NOS, or very similar, material. The headliner was done at the same time. The door panels are in good shape but pretty dirty, I think I can get them to clean up with a good scrubbing down. The drivers armrest is the main flaw other than a few missing ***** and an aftermarket stereo. Although the original stereo is in the trunk.
