Wheels for 73 Duster
Hi all,
Question. Original size rims on my Duster are 14 inch. But I have removed the six and replaced it with a 383. Would going to a 15 inch rim be wise, or make any difference, or should I just stick with a the 14 inch rim?
Thanks,
Marty

as long as you keep the same profile of the tire, you'll cut down the revs of the motor
all around, 15's are a little better, unless you want to be completely original

Marty -
The only problem with 14's are that they don't seem to make/have available all the sizes/profile tires they used to. So in that case, the 15's are easier to deal with - these days, and yes, you can match the diameter to keep your speedo accurate, if you want/need to.
The only exception would be if you were doing a "correct" resto, but with the 383, that's should be an issue.

Thanks for the replies. Ya...14 inch doesn't allow for a lot of tire choice, but I was thinking of the TA radials which do come in 14 inch sizes. I'm sort of limited to choice of rims as well. My front has the 5x4 pattern (swapped in a pre 73 disc brake setup) and my rear has the 5x4.5 bolt pattern.
