318/383

Will a 383 from a 66 Plymouth fit in a 1959 Dodge Coronet with a 318?
Also, will the rearend from a 1966 Plymouth fit in a 1959 Dodge Coronet?

Not a direct swap, it thats what you are asking.... But if you have enough fab skills, you can do it....

The answer is no. Everything is different, I did the opposite many years ago. The mounts are completely different. The tranny is not only different between years but the bellhousing won't match, the crossmember is different and the driveshaft is a different length. The radiator hoses are on opposite sides too. In that year 59 I believe the tranny was also cable shift and 66 went to lever shift. If you got cables for the tranny which wouldn't mount anyway, the shift cables won't work with the lever shifter. It's a big undertaking. Mopar isn't user friendly.

The transmission mount is in the same location on all mopar transmissions. All being 727 , the 904 variances and three and four speed manual transmissions. Im not sure about the OD transmission.
