318 Poly
I would like to know if the 318 poly engine in 1965 came with soild lifters or hidraulycs
Thanks PJ |
I do belive they were hydraulic in 65 but everything was an option back then and someone might have put solids in at some point, do you have a valve not opening?

No everything is working okay for now ,Have you heard that the oil we buy for our cars is wiping out the cams in older cars because they are removing the zinc from the oil.Not sure if it is the zinc they are removing,Apparently new cars have roller rockers so the zinc isnt needed.Causes big trouble for older cars. This is the info i received ,and oil companys my be doing this secretley

Ok thats cool I thought maybe you had a major problem, and I keep hearing the same thing about the oil and I can see them doing that just for the fact todays motors make a lot less friction then 40 years ago - I guess its like when we went unleaded and had to put hardened valve seats in all the old heads

the 318 poly in my 65 truck was solid

Need bellhousing cover
Hi
I have a 1962 Poly 318 that I have placed in a Power wagon.I built an adapter for the bellhousing to attach the power wagon tranny. My problem is I need a bellhousing cover. I'm not sure what bell housing I have I can only say that it fits the block and has 4 mounting holes in it for the cover. Need to know if there is more then one year and more then one engine that a cover can be used from. Thanks for the help. Ken |
