Death Rattle
been having this really weird problem with my 06 mega cab 1500 5.7 Hemi
when i hit a cluster of small bumps on the highway like around over passes and such i get a really violent rattle from the whole truck. almost feels like the truck is shaking its self apart.
i've been told by several friends several differnt things.
tires out of balance - balanced them no luck
had the front end checked - revealed nothing
inner tie rod end on pitman arm replaced - needed to be fixed but didnt solve the problem.
so i'm at a complete frustrated lost.
thanks for any help =)

Dust shields, center caps on the wheels, front and/or rear sway bar bushing and link ends, exhaust heat shields, exhaust system, cats to name a few parts to look at.

Cool. Thanks guys. Taking it into the dealership tomorrow to have checked. Along with my power steering I noticed its shooting fluid all over the front tire n inneer wheel well.
I must say my theorey of buying a newer vehichle would have alot less problems fell through.

I had the "Dodge Death Wobble" on my 95 Ram. It is the track bar. But yours has the independent front suspension, not the solid axle. I dont know if yours even has a steering stabilizer in it. Keep us posted, I like to learn all front end symptoms and causes.

I think its the satblizer shock that sits in front of the front axle. it takes the shock out of the rough terrain transfer to the steering wheel. but when it goes bad, the whole truck shakes bad, went bad on our 01 crew, 1500,4x4.

lol, ive done that too. you go ask the parts gut for this part. he looks at you like your high, then you describe where it goes ,what it looks like and how it works. and at some point the light comes on and he says oh you mean this. and your light goes out then , and you go huh? Lmao. thats funny, I thought just I had that prob.

Yep, you guys beat me to the punch. Just that shock on the front part.
Alldata made it sound pretty easy to remove. Just a bolt or two and bushing and slide it out.
