Lost low end

I cut the tail pipes off, so it dumps befoer the axle (sounds f'ing great). I have an edelbrock 650 on it and have trouble tuning it. I knew Id loose some low end but not that much. I SPANKED an '02 gt (buddy of mine) last night with all the bolt ons and it goes 13.60. Top end on my car is GREAT no espeacially midrange. I plan to throw some heades on it this winter, but what can I do know to shut my stang friend up cuza he beats me from a dig till 65.

nope just played with the tuning screws on the carb, and gave her a lil more timing.
It can almost touch the Civic now, nowhere near the trans am yet. Just cant decide if I want to make the Trans Am a 9 sec street car (which Im rally leaning toward) or the 'runner. One is getting heads. better cam and 2 T-76 turbos. Im just sick of getting asked if "daddy let me take his car out" Reffering to the roadrunner, since im only 22.

well, im a mopar guy, and although i recently looked at an 02 camaro, i opted for a 72 demon...my advice would be to build the runner, but the potential of the LS1 is incredible.

however, i dont buy into the "forced induction on everything" phase...especially the hassle of turbocharging a V8 in a snug engine bay...

Id just rather have the RR as a bright orange attention getter. Besides I've already built about 23 twin turbod T/A's and Camaros. Last one was completly stock motor, vavle cover were never off, and it layde out 678/703 and went 10.19@139. I got huge respect for both. If I still had my 70 340 duster, that car would bethe one Id build without at doubt. Gotta ditch the Honda though, even though its the most fun to drive, HUGE sleeper of a car.

how much boost was the car with 678 running? and how much boost will a stock LS1 bottom end handle? i know that the LS1 responds very very well to the juice,a nd i know a few guys running pretty quick lsx models with the bottle...but none with other forms of forced induction.
