360 LA vs 5.9 Magnum comparability
hello everyone, first time posting here.
rebuilding the engine in a 98 ram 1500 i recently purchased since the previous owner messed up the harmonic balancer causing it to spin 2 rod bearings destroying said 2 rods and the crank. i have ordered a new set of rods already but due to lack of being able to find anywhere that sold factory spec cranks so im converting to a 360 crank. i know the balance between the rotating assy is different and have already talked with a race shop that can properly balance it if need be. for the rods i called the manufacturer before i ordered the rods that they work for both the 360 LA and the 5.9 Mag. since almost all specs except balance are the same im going with a stroker crank from K1 for the 350 and the rods are also meant for strokers, which would be the better piston heads to go with the 360 or the 5.9 ones? i know the 5.9 ones are lighter than the 360 ones and not to worried about valve clearance at this moment since im going to be rebuilding the heads.
