I am looking for help with building my 383. I want to use the stock block. Stock heads if possible. It's the original motor in my 1971 charger se. I want it to be when I stop at a street light it sounds like it's gonna die. That big lump sound. I don't have anything for it yet. budget build if possible. Anybody have any ideas?

find one of the old chrysler Direct Connection race books. and do it JUST like chrysler says , NO more , NO less. the key phrase PER CHRYSLER ONLY. if it says use a Carter carb DO it. dont for get a chrysler race car is NOT a cam and a carb. it is a SYSTEM. each chrysler race car was designed to a certen speed and just what they did. look at the 1965 300 L the last 300, it was the only 300 one a single carb. target 1/4 mile E.T. was 16.00 sec. and that is what mine did. it was NOT a full out race car. chrysler called it a gentlemans performance car.

it worked then. it WILL work now. a 12.xx sec max-wedge is still 12.XX sec, or more. my point is chrysler spent tons of time making a fast car. and ill bet you cant better it. i mean YOU, NOT a cam mfg

Ill look at those cams. I am thinking of either doing a 8-71 blower or twin turbos. Any thought on either one of those?

If your thinking of a blower motor, get ready to spend $20,000 plus for a budget. It's not just the motor you have to worry about at that point. Exhaust system, rear end, tranny, torque converter, ignition system, suspension. Low budget and blower don't go together, especially a bigger blower like the 8-71

I had the idea of doing dual EZ EFI with twin turbos on these long rams, that way you wouldn't need the exhaust manifolds hooked up. But once again I changed my mind and im selling them on ebay.

If anyone is looking for them here ya go.
