Question early 70s 440 water cross over block off and what is this tube for?

Hi all - I have a 70s 440 in our motorhome, redoing the intake gasket (dead rat) - anyway, can i block off the hot water crossover between heads? Also - there is a weird water pipe with coolant going from under carb to water pump (bypass?) - can I also plug this off?

No need for heated manifold in southern california! If anything ill put on an insulated gasket under the carb-

motor is a 440 stock in a 27ft 1967 travco 270-

thanks!

For around here... You can plug it off.... Just make sure the Electric Choke works and you shouldn't have any issues...

We plug them off in Iowa, but then I can’t think of one 440 that gets lit at -20 not one.

If your referring to the cross over holes in the middle of the intake manifold.... Yes you can block those off... Those should be just exhaust crossover's... Don't need those for around here nether..
And as you said... Use a good thick carb to intake gasket... The thickest you can get the better...
