Engine Identification Help! 1962 Aluminum 225 Slant 6 Barn Find

Ok so this older friend of mine is having me liquidate his collection of random stuff. I was going through the engine section and he told me that the aluminum block 225 was quite rare. I'm having trouble finding consistent info. The engine in question was pulled with 40k miles in 1970 and has been in his shop ever since. It is complete from the carb to the oil pan and also comes with a offenhauser aluminum 4 barrel intake. What should I do with it? Restore or sale it as is? Thanks!

IT is very rare if it is indeed an aluminum block slant 6 I believe 62 was the only year for it. I do remember having an aluminum block 6 in a 63 Rambler

Really depends on what YOUR intentions are.Would you build a slanty or an 8 cylinder?

Most of them were probably sent to the recyclers. It would not be an engine of choice to build. MOST early attempts with aluminum blocks ended with blown head gaskets.

Recyclers or not, its worth something if complete. Do a search for slant six forums and have a look see, ask questions, post for sale. ( I would give the site addy here but not for sure if its allowed here or not). That said you can pm me...
