starter from a Dodge Ram fits??
 
Does anyone know if a starter from a Dodge Ram with the 318 fits my Dodge Pioneer -61 318? Thought of the brackets and so ..

My knocking and sometimes it doesn't seem that the gear go out, Should first check there is no play in any cable .. :)

If your '61 is a poly 318 I'm not sure. But I can tell you that the starter in my '89 Ram 318 is out of a '75 passenger car 360. I think all small and big block starters (pre-magnum SB) are all the same.
