72 charger

Just picked up a clean 72 charger yesterday, no engine or tranny. Car was originally 318. I have a 69 383 I would like to drop in, motor was bolted to A833 so I have flywheel and clutch. Having problems locating a used 833 that would fit a B body. Nonetheless the money involved in converting the car to a four speed. It is such a nice unmolested surviver as much as I want a 4 speed I think it would be a shame to cut a hole. Now with that being I turn to the 727, understand there are small and big block and I know the difference. My question is one would it be cheaper to throw a 727 in her and be done? Or there are plenty of 727s available, would a later year BB 727 bolt to a 69 383? What about one out of a camper many are still available that we're mated with a 440. Would that be compatible? My idea is to get car moving under its own power, minimal body work get it primed and maybe sell. I'm not rich by any means then again I don't think any of us are! Thanks for the help. Nick
