Drop blocks.
So I am currently running a 1" drop block on my 68 newport rear end as my new leaf springs have my car sitting a bit higher. It is still about 2" too high for my liking. What is the largest drop block I can run without getting shims to adjust pinion angle etc....... How can I measure for this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I know fleet farm sells 3'' blocks, but I would not shim the rear end that would change the pinion angle and may give you vibration. To check angle, take an angle finder and put it on the tail of the oil pan. than on the rear end just below the pinion on the carer.

Thanks 62. I was just concerned with going to a larger block might mess with the angles! I'm guessing I'm wrong which makes me pretty happy!

On another note has anyone ever drilled new mounting holes in the leaf spring hangers to lower their car? I know firm feel makes ones with 2 holes but they want a ridiculous amount of money to ship to canada....

I made my spring hangers with bolts and plate steel years ago and have had no problem. I things my shackels are 4.5 hole center to hole center. I also took the front spring mount and flipped it over, you will need to oblong the holes in the frame because the bolts in the front hanger are off set. The person that had my car before me jacked it to the sky, and I wanted to slam it to the ground.
