Need Help With 62TE Trans

I just bought a mechanics special 2008 Town and country for $700, the car was stuck in limp mode and not working very well, but the rest of the vehicle seemed in good shape and i ran my SCT scanner and only found 2 transmission codes for P0732 and P0792. The transmission fluid was all black and very dirty like maybe it had never been maintenanced and it shuddered real bad while in drive very much like my Fords with dirty fluid, which i believe is the torque converter locking and unlocking very quickly.

So i dropped the pan replaced the filter and filled it up with brand new chrysler fluid(Also welded a nut to the pan so i could change it easier if need be). Transmission no longer shudders and is smooth as butter now but i'm still stuck in 2nd gear. I cleared the codes and reset the cpu and still stuck in gear.

Codes appear to be for speed sensor on the transmission. I'm wondering if its best practice to replace the sensor or just clean, or am i wasting my time and i probably have garbage transmission.

I am very unfamiliar with this style engines and trans really just kind of trying to get some info on best practices and diagnostics

This is my first Chrysler vehicle ever owned, and while the trans problem is what it is, i am very much impressed with the rest of the vehicle. Hopefully can get a decent daily driver with just a bit of money into the project.

Dig a little deeper and see if one of the Solenoids might need just a flushing... Cant hurt it any more. Give it a go..
Keep us posted...

how would you recommend cleaning it? should i remove it and manually clean the passages with like some compressed air or just solvent pressure. or the let the car sit in drive and wait for the clean fluid to cycle. Its almost 95*F here today so if i did let it sit in drive i can only do it in periods to let he trans cool back down.

You could pull the Soleniod pack and use some shop air or brakkleen if you find any stuff lodged in it to start with...
OR
Better to use a transmission fluid flush exchanger. But if you dont have one.... >>>>>>>
