69 dodge dart with 440 and 4 speed trans
hello,I have a 69 dodge dart original v8,and I have a stock 440 that im planning to put in the car. few days ago i got a 4 speed manual transmission for free,it came out of a late 70's dodge cargo van with 318,the thing is that i dont know if the transmission will run correct with the 440 or i have to do modifications or something like..i dont know if the engine will break the transmission since it is a big block..i need some advices before I start the swap.this is the casting number on the transmission PP833 12 48..i dont know what that means.

I can't tell you about things like tailshaft length, but you won't break that transmission easily, unless there's something weak--like badly worn bearings--inside

As I know on 727 transmission bell housing there are different bolt pattern depending on small block or big. The distance between centers of two upper lugs for SB trans is 7 and 1/2 inch and for BB is probably 7 or 7and1/4inch
