Info on 1968 Charger Shifters
I am new to this forum and I am trying to locate a forum or album(however topics are organized) that shows pics and has discussions about the 68 Charger shifter. I have seen the tall slightly angled shifter(Hurst?) but thats not what I had in my stock Charger. My shifter was quite unique and had a right angle design which made it attract a lot of attention. It would make one wonder how well you could shift given its odd shape and design. But it was a beauty and worked just fine. I am pretty sure I ordered a 2bbl 318cu engine and subsequently upgraded it to a 4bbl Carter carburetor. That turned out to be an ordeal - dealer kept trying to make a Holly work until they figured out it required the Carter Carb.
Traded it in in 1972 just when I had it running great with the proper carb. Got a 72 Riviera - the worst car ever made and with fuel economy worse than my Charger.(remember the oil embargo?) Just about everything broke on the Riviera. Should have kept the Charger for sure as it went to a whole seller given the mileage(100K+).

Hi, these are pictures of a friend of mine's original '68 Hemi Charger R/T Hurst shifter. He's the original owner of this unrestored survivor .
