d100 ENGINE SWAP

I currently have a 1987 D100 with a slant 6 (225 ci) with a manual 4-speed 833 and I have a 1986 D150 with I believe a 318 and a automatic 904 transmission. Will the 318 fit with the 833 transmission. The 833 is in better shape and I like driving the stick. The Slant 6 has a worn out cam shaft and we are having trouble finding a replacement. It is an used engine, that is suppose to be out a similar truck as the 100. The 904 transmission is in ok shape, but some of the linkage in worn out. The 100 doesn't have power steering, so the power steering would be transferred with the 318. My daughter hit a cow with the 150 and I don't want to fix it anymore.

Will teh bell housing from the 833 bolt up to the v8 318? I am trying to verify the 318 is not 273.

The later transmission will have a larger input shaft bearing size so you will need a bellhousing for a V8 for the year of the transmission witch should not be a problem.
