So i was finally able to snag a 66 charger cluster, however its not mint but in great shape. bezel has no cracks, and all the gauges are there with nice color on needles. I found a company on ebay that does sell overlay kits. Does anyone know if these would be any good? thanks

Dunno about the overlays, but I got a feeling they are gonna defeat your purpose. On the electrolumnescent lighting, the power sent to the guages actually excites the face of the guage itself, making it glow. Seems like an overlay would hide the electroluminescence, and you would have no light at all from them. Not to mention that to do the overlays, you'd have to disconnect the tiny wires that power the lighting tape.

I CAN tell you, do NOT touch those tiny little wires, it will give you a shock you won't soon forget, after you pick yourself up out of the back seat.

About this overlay according to the manufacturer you do not need to remove the tape it simply goes onto of only the guage face. Even better news they cleaned up much better than i thought they would, so i dont even need to buy the overlays. I could post pics later tonight.

Looks good to me!

Were the overlays electroluminescent? If so, that could be something fun to play with if I could find the power source cheap enough.
