1971 Charger S/E w rebuilt 383 and 727 Tranny
This car has a Edelbrock 1406 and engine was running fine until I decided to take off the Dash to have it redone.
It then sat unused and was not started for a couple of years while I was deciding whether to take everything apart and start from ground up.
Just today I put new gas and turned it over.
It started but died within a few seconds.
The carb is getting gas and after pumping the gas pedal a few times while turning I flooded it. But still will not start and keep running.
The carb is prob 6 years old.
Should I try to take it apart and clean and/or rebuilt it or just spring for a new one?

im no expert but i would say cleaning it would be your best start and go from there especially seeing as it seems at least that your not in a huge hurry, but are you sure its ur carb? is it getting spark? check your sparkplugs?

Let it sit overnight after spraying carb cleaner and turning it over.
This morning, starts like a champ.
Just hearing the sound of the twin exhausts was reward enough.
Amazing after sitting for a while it even holds idle.
I need to get back into finishing it now damn it!
