318 Poly HELP!!!!
I have a 1965 Belvedere II With the 318 Poly in it.
It has recently been rebuilt, and this is the first time starting it since the rebuild. It seems to has SERIOUS issues.
When cranking the possitive battery cable smokes like crazy and gets extremely hot.
The distributer moves forward and backwards slightly while cranking
After cranking for a few seconds it backfires (exhaust tube is not completely connected to the manifold) and the exhaust area lights up in flames..
Definetly not a good turn out.
What is causing this?
Thanks

what cam do you have in it? cams from the poly differ from the 67 up la blocks. the battery cable smoking could just be poor contact. if the dizzy moves wile cranking it could have a bent shaft in the distributer. i had that happen before good luck
