440 engine decoding

440 engine decoding

I pulled my engine tonight and was courious if anyone can decode the casting number for me. Stamped on both sides is 4006630-440-4 it also has 2-13-75 stamped on the passenger side

i am not too good at this, but i can tell you that the 2-13-75 is the casting date for the block, which means that your 440 block was probably used in a 1977 car

if im not mistaken the 4006630-440-4 means it is between 69 and 78 and the 2-13-75 means is was manufactured February 13, 1975. Mine is 4006630-440-9 7-77

Its a 440 block that was mass produced between 75-78
