73/74 Road Runner/Satellite Owners Step Inside, Quarter Panel quandary!!!

I started another thread related to this back in 2009, but wanted to make a fresh one with updates.

I was campaigning to try and encourage as many people as possible that need 73/74 RR and Sat Quarter panels to call Auto Metal Direct and inquire about replacement quarter panels.

Well, recently, yesterday, they said they will not be making replacement quarters for the 73/73 Road Runner and Satellite, as it was not feasible.

I am very disappointed. I have been calling them every month for a year and half. I know there are lots of cars and owners that are in need of replacement quarters.

So, if you need quarters or know someone that needs quarters, please help!!! Contact AMD and ask them when they will make 73/74 RoadRunner quarter panels. Maybe we can change their minds!!!!!

I am on a mission to get my 73 back on the road, I have had her for 28 years, and I am determined to give her the justice she deserves by completing the restoration!!!

Thank you very much!
Paul

Paul, bless you man! But they will make that decision based on production numbers. I have a 74, so I feel your pain. The only way they could consider it, is with alot of pre-paid orders for that part. They wont do all that work based on projected demand. 71-2's are finally popular, since the 68-70's are through the roof. Maybe, after the 71-72's max out, they MIGHT consider the 73-74. Yeah, I know it sucks, but they are STILL more popular than ANY 73-74 cheby or ferd!

DUDE, you've answered my prayers. And I thought I was the only one looking for 73 satellite panels. I'll do just that and give them a call. I do hope they will change their minds. Please let me know if you find another revenue!!!

After I'm done teaching myself how to rebuild Chrysler 2.7, and 4.7 motors, I will jump into making replacement patch panels. It wont be that hard. Stay tuned to spring of next year. Just for informations sake, post some rust pictures so I know how high to go.

I actually bought the quarter patch panel from AMD, its pretty good quality, that an the trunk extension should take care of all the rust out in the quarter panel area. My body shop guy says it should be no problem to get this installed, and so i have started the teardown of the car.

I hope to have it in the body shop in the next few months!!!!
