Question 73/74 RR sunroof rare?

I have been working with my neighbor who is a really good mechanic and we have been getting my roadrunner rebuilt and ready to be put back on the road. He also has a 1974 roadrunner. His mom bought it from the factory. We are going to completely redo it when we get mine done. His bird is blue with black stripes, vinyl top, and a factory sunroof loaded with other options. Does anyone know the production numbers on sunroof cars? He said he was talking to someone and they said there were only 17 made in both 73 and 74 together but we dont know if this is true. Doesnt scottys have a sunroof? There isnt much info out there on these years of birds and I would like to start collecting information and make a website and put it all on there with options and production numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My guess on the sunroof would be around 200-250.

A bit more popular than that, but still very uncommon. I thought I bookmarked some sunroof data. If I find it, I will send you the links.

I have a 69 Cougar XR7 with a factory sunroof and the production for it was 261. I figured It would be about the same or maybe a little less. Just a guess on my part.

No dis intended Don, but the 73-74 Satty, RRs were still more popular than the 69 Mercs! But, I do think I have a picture in my files of an old Cougar from Australia [when I was there] of a right-hand drive 69! I snapped it as he was driving by. Interested?

If your including Satelites that would change the numbers. They built about 19,000 Road Runners in 1973 and about 11,500 Road Runners in 1974. the 1969 Cougar XR7 production was about 33,000 which is about the same number as 73 and 74 Road Runners combined so if the percentages are the same for the number of sunroofs in 73-74 Road Runners that would come to about 150 1973 Road Runners and 90 1974 Road Runners so equiped. For a total of 240. Still just a guess on my part.

I dunno how many they made but i wouldn't call a crank sunroof roadrunner rare.. maybe uncommon.. certainly way more common than any of the power sunroof (71-72) b-body's.
