Lightbulb Project Magnum GT Digial dash (Part 3)

Digital dash - First draft!

This is almost like what's in my black Magnum XE

Now remember this is only my first draft, done on Windows paint
so it's not perfect.

From this:

To this:

But this is pretty much what it will look like with a Carbon fiber face.

I'll be taking the Nordskog gauges and will rebuild and add to them to
get this look.

This is only about 1/4 of the digital equipment going into this car.

Other interior projects:
Center Consol
Upper consol

Lightbulb Project Magnum GT Digial dash (Part 4)

The Concept:

Removed all light bulbs and wiring board from the back of the dash frame.
Saved it in a box marked "Tach dash assembly parts" for future ref. and then sprayed flat black paint over the existing white areas.

Have to go to the local parts yard to find the lower half of the dash. It also will look different when done.

Talking Raw digital gauges

All the gauges out of there pods before being customized.

All these gauges will feed off a single board layout, and will be hook up to the original plugs of the Magnum GT. Therefore making it able to be replaced with original gauges if ever sold to some one wanting it back to stock.

Exclamation Update!

Dash got a coat of black today, trim color!
Looks like I'm going with the swirled aluminum factory GT look with gloss
black trim and smoked plexi for the gauges.

You should see hat it looks like in the car!

Super cool, I love it! I can't wait to see it finished. Front and rear Radar? I can understand the front, never thought about running 2. Normally the chrismas time in the rear view keeps me covered lol.

Never really fooled with Rader stuff too much as I live in amish country and they use Vascar lines out here, super rare for a township in these parts to have one, I guess I should count my blessings.

Top notch work so far, i'm impressed.

Well I guess there is some interest here?! The dash has been redesigned somewhat, working on the circuit boards now. Drawing them up on the computer
and will transfer to the silkscreening machine to print them to the copper pc boards.

I too am interested in this. I would like to see the finished product as well. Is this a completely custom deal, or are there limitations in the PCB design? Can this be adapted to any dash, or is it limited to certain ones? I can get an aftermarket dash for my Duster, and am considering that, or just cutting a stock non Ralley dash for my cluster.

Most of the dash is totally custom! I am using Nordskog gauges for the
main stuff. I got the last two complete sets off of eBay, as there now out
of business. Two other main digital gauge companies out there are
Cyberdyne and Dakota digital! Neither are as good looking as Nordskog's!
I'm not going to show my PC designs, but there being designed on my
computer and will be transfered to my silk screen machine to be printed on
to the copper clad boards. This means there are no limitations in the PCB designing!

Back in the day, I designed and build a Digital dash for my 1971 Duster 340, Which
was all custom made, as for there was nothing out there in the after market. This
thing had anything and everything I could think of in it.

Exclamation Magnum/Cordoba/Charger - Custom carbon fiber dash face

I'm not going to use this dash face. I'm going with the the semi-stock
look of the swirled alunimum. So that means it's up for sale! This
thing is a beauty, has the look of carbon fiber instead of the stock
wood look. Check out the classifieds here:
http://www.moparstyle.com/classified...hp?product=846

Also have matching piece for other half of dash w/clock opening

Soooo...

This means you will be willing and able to do one for my Duster?

Srsly...Does Dak Dig make custom ones, or is it for specific models only, AND/OR Can I send them a picture of a Ralley panel and have them do a backing for me?

More questions posed...

I could build one for you, better then anything Dakota Digital will
do for ya! The one in my Duster 340 was the Rallye dash and it
turned out great! I would love to build even a better one for you.
PM me!
